AI candidate screening that you stay in charge of

Sparky reviews every candidate against your role's criteria & sends the ones it cannot call to you to decide.

How it works

  1. Set the role's criteria

Import the role's description from your ATS's public job board. Sparky suggests criteria, & you decide what a candidate must have, what is nice to have & what rules someone out.

  2. Bring in candidates

From a search you run, your team's talent pool, referrals & developer communities: GitHub, GitLab, Stack Overflow, Kaggle, Hugging Face, npm & more. For a community you post in, Sparky drafts the post & you post it yourself.

  3. Sparky reviews each profile

Sparky checks each person against the must-haves you set: met, not met or unknown. Anyone who clearly misses a must-have goes to Does not meet, & anyone Sparky cannot call goes to Needs review, for a person to decide. Nice to haves & bonuses never fail anyone.

  4. You decide the rest

A candidate Sparky cannot call lands in Needs review, with what it found, & you make the call.

What stays with you

  • The criteria. You set them for every role & change them whenever the bar moves. Sparky suggests, you decide.
  • The unclear candidates. Anything Sparky cannot call waits in Needs review for you.
  • Who hears from you. Passing review sends nothing. Outreach has its own approval.

Questions

What does Sparky check a candidate against?

The criteria you set for the role: what a candidate must have, what is nice to have, what is a bonus & what rules someone out, such as a location you exclude or a company you mark not acceptable.

Does Sparky reject candidates on its own?

No. Sparky never rejects anyone. Sparky checks each person against the must-haves you set: met, not met or unknown. Anyone who clearly misses a must-have goes to Does not meet, & anyone Sparky cannot call goes to Needs review, for a person to decide. Nice to haves & bonuses never fail anyone. Review never messages a candidate.

Where do the candidates come from?

A search you run in your own recruiting account, your team's talent pool, referrals & developer communities: GitHub, GitLab, Stack Overflow, Kaggle, Hugging Face, npm & more, each find reviewed against the role's criteria. For a community you post in, Sparky drafts the post & you post it yourself.

Can Sparky use the role description from our job board?

Yes. Sparky imports a role's description from your ATS's public job board. It only reads the board & never writes to it.

The other stages

  • Outreach: Sparky drafts each message from the outreach template approved for the role. You approve each batch, or approve a role's template once & put that role's outreach on hands-free.
  • Replies: Sparky reads the replies to its emails, in your own Gmail threads. Hands-on, it drafts an answer for you to approve, edit or skip. Hands-free, it sends only the kinds of reply a person cleared. Pay, visa, a no thanks & any reply in another language always wait for a person.
  • Scheduling: When a candidate says yes, you approve the booking invite on its card & Sparky sends your booking link from your Gmail; a role sends it without that tap only from the Booking invite template a person approved for it, & only once your company turned hands-free booking on. Before the call, Sparky sends the candidate up to 2 reminders, each from a reminder template a person approved for the role.
  • Call notes: coming next, a prep note before the call & notes after it.
